Fossilator submitted!

by admin

The Dichotomous Key project I worked on at the 2011 Southwest Ohio Give Camp for Camp Joy has been submitted to the app store under the name "The Fossilator", believe it or not "Fossilator" was taken, but I don't see an app with that name in the store.

After Give Camp we installed the app on 3 iPod Touch devices.  Camp Joy had students use the apps during their camps and we received feedback on how the app worked and how we could make it better.

We also had issues clearing copyright on some of the fossil photos we used.  Nate Hirt from Camp Joy was able to do all the paper work to get everything in order.  Andrew Douglas helped get some of the app changes in that Nate recommended.

If you're not familiar with our project it is built in HTML5 using Sencha Touch and PhoneGap.

The app is in two parts, now wait 3.  The Dichotomous Key,  the Sench App, and the PhoneGap package.

The Dichotomous Key is here : https://github.com/gigasquid/dichotomous_key

The Sencha app is here: https://github.com/ballmw/campjoy_fossils

We'll keep everyone updated as to the process as the app makes it's way to the store.

Cross your fingers!
